2003-05-14 - 10:48 a.m. March 21 I stay the night on Aly’s couch and check my e-mail in the morning. Two days left and then I get to go home! We eat breakfast at a cool little place near “Little Five Corners” called “The Flying Bisquit”. Next door is a used CD store. I can’t resist picking up the latest Ralph Stanley disc and “Out There” by Eric Dolphy. On the way to York, SC we aren’t paying attention and we pass right by the turnoff for Spartansburg. I quick look at the map and find an alternate route. It turns out to be a beautiful road. York’s a neat little town and the Sylvia Theater is a gem. It’s a nice evening and I go for a walk. Soft breezes in a quiet town. We are treated to a nice dinner by the promoter at an old fashioned family restaurant across from the theater. The show has a lot more energy than the Atlanta show. The crowd’s small, around 60 people, but they’re into it.
